MAX CASTRO
RESIDENT ARTIST - BLACKWORK & ANIME

Born and raised in the rural countryside of Minas Gerais, Max Castro grew up surrounded by farm life—working with cattle, horses, and the demanding routines that come with a simple but resilient lifestyle. That environment played a major role in shaping his character, work ethic, and outlook on life.
His first connection to tattooing came around the age of 13 during a rebellious phase of his teenage years. Fascinated by dark imagery, skulls, and heavy aesthetics, Max would buy tattoo magazines simply to study the artwork and recreate the designs on paper. Even then, art became a way for him to express himself and escape into creativity.
At 18, while studying to become a personal trainer, everything changed after getting his first tattoo at a local studio. The experience felt immediate and undeniable—like a sign pointing him toward the path he was meant to follow.
Not long after, Max approached the studio owner and asked for an opportunity to learn. That decision marked the beginning of a journey that has now spanned over 15 years. Since then, he has traveled through cities across Brazil and Europe, constantly tattooing, learning, evolving, and refining his craft through every experience and environment he encountered along the way.
Eventually, that journey brought him to the United States, where he is now based in New Jersey, continuing to grow as an artist while working alongside a talented team in a creative studio environment.
Despite years of experience, Max still believes he is far from reaching his full artistic potential—and that mindset is what continues to drive him forward every day. His passion for growth, creativity, and self-improvement remains at the center of everything he does.
Outside of tattooing, Max values the simple things most: family, art, good coffee, and quiet moments spent with his wife watching anime together.
Today, his work is heavily focused on Anime-inspired tattooing with a strong foundation in Blackwork, though his background across multiple styles allows him to approach each project with versatility while still maintaining his own artistic identity. Over the years, he has learned through experience, mistakes, experimentation, and constant evolution—lessons that continue to shape him with every tattoo he creates.
Above all, Max believes that the connection between artist and client is what truly makes each piece meaningful. For him, every tattoo is a collaboration, and every project carries a story worth bringing to life.
